College scholarships are forms of aid that help students pay for their education. We are thrilled to be able to provide scholarship opportunities to students.

The sportsmanship award values to be recognized and encouraged include appreciation for the game, commitment to the team, respect for others (particularly opponents and referees), playing by the rules, and personal integrity. The award recipients exemplify during the Turkey Tussle game at the Rose Bowl Stadium what it means to be a good sport and what it means to enjoy the game with respect for others.

Each year the Rose Bowl Institute awards two Sportsmanship Awards and Scholarship to a player from each school, Pasadena High School and John Muir.

At the conclusion of the three-day symposium, female participants will become eligible to apply for a $2,500 scholarships generously gifted to the Rose Bowl Institute. The scholarship opportunities will be for students located in Pasadena, the State of California, and nationwide, respectively.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Be available to have participated all three days live and/or catch the replay
  • At the end of each day, participants must have completed a brief survey
  • Be a female student currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior or college student
  • Possess at least a 2.5 grade point average in both the current and previous school year's course work and be able to provide official verification in an official school document
