Rose Table Dialogue on Teaching the World How to Give

Overview

Sports and entertainment is a means for philanthropy. At its broadest level, the giving of time, talents, and treasure. However, to better understand the importance of giving, philanthropy must be acknowledged as its own endeavor in the world, with diverse components of grant making volunteerism, and overall social capital. The concept of philanthropy is important for many reasons and the involvement of youth in philanthropy is beneficial to the development of the individual of the community, and society as a whole.

The Institute has established a forum on “Teaching the World to Give.” The forum will gather leaders, athletes, and organizers throughout the world to advance the cause of philanthropy. The goal is to empower leaders and community influencers to leverage the transformative power of sports of social impact.

They were able to reflect on pivotal moments when we witnessed our loved ones' acts of giving, exploring how such instances impacted and motivated us.

While opportunities may arise, what obstacles might we encounter from individuals, corporations, or a lack of response? How can we encourage this behavior, and which groups should we target to tackle these issues?
