Leadership

People lead in different ways. One does not have to be a “leader” to assert leadership qualities. Some lead by example, some by asserting themselves as leaders, others as servant-leaders.

OVERVIEW

At the Rose Bowl Institute, we believe that everyone possesses unique leadership qualities that can inspire others to take action. Leadership isn’t confined to titles; it’s about motivating those around us to achieve common goals.

Leadership Through Sports. Sports offer valuable opportunities for individuals to demonstrate and develop their leadership skills. Whether on the field or within the community, athletes learn essential lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and resilience. The Rose Bowl Institute highlights these experiences to help individuals recognize and harness their potential as leaders.

Beyond the Field. Our focus extends beyond athletics to include programs and dialogues that explore leadership principles applicable in various areas of life—education, business, and community engagement. We provide participants with the skills and confidence needed to lead effectively, creating more impactful leaders.

Sharing Experiences. We emphasize the importance of shared experiences in leadership development. Through mentorship programs, guest speakers, and collaborative projects, we create a space for individuals to learn from one another and share their unique stories, enriching our collective understanding of leadership.

Cultivating a Leadership Culture. The Rose Bowl Institute strives to cultivate a culture that values leadership in all its forms. We encourage individuals to take initiative and inspire others, aiming to create a ripple effect of positive change within sports and society.

The Symposium will provide insight and working knowledge of societal and cultural topics, health, and more presented by female experts, business leaders, and former college and professional athletes. Utilizing topical forums, panels, a business lunch, and several networking opportunities, the Symposium aims to influence the mindset of participating youth to pursue higher education and professional careers.

Rose Table Dialogue

Rose Table Dialogues

A Rose Table Dialogue is a two-session moderated roundtable dialogue of 20-25 diverse leaders and experts who address a specific issue involving sports values. The first 90-minute session refines the issue. The second session uses the collective intelligence around the table to recommend solutions. Ideally those around the table represent the stakeholders involved in the issue so that they can act in their own ways as a result of the dialogue. They are also leaders who can speak or write about these issues to broader audiences.
